Google Pixel C Tablet Officially Announced, Feels Like A Chromebook Turned Slate

Google’s big event today brought us not only the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P handsets, but also the Pixel C tablet, with Android on board. This model is a 10.2 inch slate with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, that feels like a sort of Chromebook turned tablet.

This model is most likely meant as a rival for the Surface tablets and for the iPad Pro, especially taking into account its keyboard accessory. That product is an optional and smart Bluetooth keyboard, priced at $149. It docks with the Pixel C and serves for increasing the productivity of the device. The Pixel uses an USB Type C connector and comes with the Nvidia Tegra X1 processor inside and the 10.2 inch screen with 2560 x 1800 pixel resolution is said to be extra bright, at 500 nits.

Google claims its new tablet will come in time for the holidays, priced at $499 for the 32 GB version and $599 for the 64 GB model. We’ll also find a 3 GB of LPDDR4 RAM inside and the “C” here stands for convertible, with the keyboard being able to attach magnetically. The angle between the accessory and slate can be adjusted between 100 and 135 degrees and the devices communicate via Bluetooth.
