NEC Lavie Hybrid Zero is an interesting hybrid, in that it manages to combine both tablet and keyboard, with a total weight of less than 800 grams. This is not a small tablet, by any means, since it has a 11.6 inch diagonal.
The slate part measures 7.6 mm in thickness and weighs just 400 grams, but with the keyboard attached it all gets to 17.9 mm and 798 grams. And the battery isn’t sacrificed apparently, providing 10.3 hours of functioning time. This model uses a Sharp-made IGZO screen panel with Full HD resolution and a CPU from the Skylake family (Core M3 6Y30).
We find 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM on board, 64 or 128 GB of SSD storage and WiFi 802.11 ac connectivity. The device ships on February 25th, so there’s a bit of waiting time till then. Most hybrids, especially the bigger ones easily go past 1 kg, so that’s what makes this device special.
